Fundraising for the Victims of the Earthquake in Iran (Azerbaijan)

As you know recent earthquakes in north-western Iran have had tragic consequences: killing and injuring many, and inflicting widespread damage on large areas of Azerbaijan. There is urgent need for humanitarian support and immediate survival as well as to assist many individuals, families and communities to rebuild their livelihoods in the long term.

A whole afternoon of events and activities is on offer including several parallel events in different halls, such as musical performances, plays and poetry readings, film screening, painting, photography, etc. There will also be sales stalls consisting of books, CDs, and other works of art (such as painting and photography), generously offered by many to raise funds.

All funds raised will be donated to independent humanitarian organisations with a track record of dealing with disasters in Iran. This initiative is wholly independent, non-political and in solidarity with those affected by the recent earthquake.
